frequently asked questions
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST CLASS?
If you can, arrive 10-15 minutes before your first class to meet the instructor and see the studio. This gives you plenty of time to get acquainted with the studio before your first class. As you walk into our studio space, expect to be greeted by your instructor. They will sign you up for the class (unless you have already signed up online) and take payment from you. From there, they will tell you how they'd like you to set up your mat (or, if you are borrowing one of ours, they will show you where the mats are) and will tell you if there are any specific props you will need during the practice. Depending on the class and the instructor, the classes can be set up differently and different props may be used to support the body. Our class sizes are small intentionally, so don't expect a room packed full of people. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask your instructor! They are there to help and support you every step of the way.
SPEAKING OF MATS AND PROPS, SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING WITH ME TO CLASS? AND WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
The only thing you need to bring is yourself! Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. If you have a mat you like to practice on, feel free to bring it, but we also have mats you can borrow for free. We also have plenty of props and water available in the studio, although bringing your own water bottle to keep by your mat never hurts. We have cubbies for you to store your personal items and shoes during class and a place for you to hang any bags or coats. (Please plan on turning off or silencing your cell phone during class and leaving it in the cubby area.)
